We have just published a new public resource: a literature review of the global evidence base for early learning programmes. This analysis is especially useful in the current South African context, where both the National Development Plan Vision 2030 and the National Integrated ECD Policy (2015) call for an expansion of early learning programmes. What components, dosage, and resources actually impact on children’s social and cognitive development, as well as their school readiness?
The literature review was done by Andrew Dawes, Linda Biersteker, Elizabeth Girdwood, Matthew Snelling, and Jessica Horler in 2018 as part of the Early Learning Programme Outcome Study Baseline Report.
