Funding and human resources for ECD

Subsidised ECD relies on efficient systems  

Ilifa Labantwana is working with government, non-governmental organisations and donors to support and improve the systems that take care of the financing and human resource needs of early childhood development.

These include:

    • systems for partial care registration
    • systems for administration of the Early Learning Subsidy
    • systems for administration of the Conditional Grant for ECD
    • systems for determining the norms and standards for ECD infrastructure
    • systems for creating and sustaining a pipeline of the human resources needed to deliver quality ECD services to all children

We expect that well-functioning systems for delivery, coupled with reliable and up-to-date data, will result in a steady increase in funding for ECD.
