The 2019 article in the Journal for Child Psychology and Psychiatry details the outcomes of a randomised control trial of the Parenting for Lifelong Health Programme in South Africa, which aims to reduce child maltreatment and enhance developmental outcomes for at-risk, low-income families. The initial evaluation, supported by Ilifa Labantwana, involved collaboration with academic institutions, including the Universities of Cape Town, Bangor, and Oxford, as well as local NGOs and international agencies. The trial results indicate the programme’s potential to foster positive parenting and decrease harsh parenting practices.
